David Held has been the technology director at Poughkeepsie Day School (PDS) since 2002 and has worked in the field of educational technology for over 20 years. Before joining PDS, David was hired by Teachers College/Columbia University to develop video editing suites for students and manage the Media Services department.
In 2011, David started a maker space at PDS and teaches art and technology classes as well as 3D printing classes in all three divisions of the school. He has presented several workshops focusing on teaching technology through STEM projects and building interactive art projects. He has demonstrated the work he does at several conferences including at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) annual conference, SXSWedu, New York State Association of Independent School (NYSAIS), New York State Association for Computers and Technologies in Education (NYSCATE) annual conferences and the New York State Technology and Engineering Educators’ Association (NYSTEEA).
