Brain Vibrator 2026

EEG Cap, Vibration Motors, Microcontroller
Some of my work explores the convergence of art and science. My wife has Parkinson’s Disease. To help alleviate her symptoms, she has a Deep Brain Stimulator implanted in her brain. It gave me the idea that perhaps having certain areas of the brain stimulated could have various effects on the wearer.
A microcontroller is programmed with several patterns to activate one or any combination of nineteen vibration motors attached to an EEG cap. A button cycles through 20 patterns. Some of the patterns are: “Pulse Frontal Pole”, “Hemisphere Ping-Pong”, “Ring around the Brain”, “Global Storm”, “Prefrontal focus”, “Left Language Loop”, and “Right Spatial Loop”. Does it have an effect on the wearer? I am still evaluating.
